Steel Erection and
Modification in Phases as shown Below:
 |
|
Erected under an existing
roof |
|
Intermediate Steel Levels I, II &
III (7,000 ton)
The Intermediate Steel involved the erection
of new floor and bracing members under an
existing roof structure resulting in close
quarter work requiring precise sequencing
and thorough coordination with civil and finishing
trades. DCM Erectors' provision of Work Around
Solutions to access and trade conflicts enabled
the Construction Manager to achieve the benefits
of their unorthodox and high-risk construction
schedule. The required Customer Changes necessary
to achieve occupancy were handled expeditiously
in the field thereby greatly assisting the
Construction Manager in the maintenance of
the planned schedule.

Liner Steel & Apron Tower (9,500
ton)
The Liner Steel & Apron Tower contract
included the erection of a portion of the
New Terminal Building that would eventually
become the Departure Lounges, Security and
Baggage Handling facilities. The construction
of the Apron Tower, eventually housing the
Ground Traffic Control Operations, consisted
of six full floor lifts that were assembled
off site and transported to the erection position
during Windows of Opportunity in the Air Traffic
Operations. The installation of Architecturally
Exposed Structural Steel (AESS) formed a significant
portion of the Liner Steel Contract.

Canopy Steel & Level III Reinforcing
(1,000 ton)
The reinforcing of the existing 3rd Floor
amidst the intense finishing trades activities
required all of DCM Erectors logistical and
coordination ability in order to help the
GTAA Construction Management team meet its
schedule goals. Erection of the Kiosk and
Canopy Steel over and around finished Terrazzo
Floors required elaborate rigging and welding
techniques. The final product, predominantly
Architectural Exposed Structural Steel, eloquently
proves DCM Erectors capabilities in the Miscellaneousl
and High End Ornamental Steel area.
